Steve Doucette, Professional Development Coach
Steve has helped a variety of businesses achieve results through the improved development of individual skills, organizational structure and practices. In addition to engagements with groups, Steve works extensively with executives and managers to improve leadership effectiveness through individual coaching. It is Steve's ability to recognize and build on others' fundamental strengths and his pragmatic approach that provides immediate results for his clients. As he puts it, "For me, seeing people realize their personal success is the best part of my work, it is the driving value for me."
Steve has enjoyed a diverse and successful career. After his initial work in education, Steve held a number of positions of increasing responsibility. In his role as Vice President of Human Resources with a major specialty retail chain, Steve gained skills in business planning, human resource planning and organizational development. He gained further experience in an executive role in the not-for-profit sector with responsibility for human resources, accreditation, policy/practice and performance improvement. His varied experience has been supplemented with training and education at the Center for Creative Leadership, Learning Designs International and the University of Michigan.
Steve's deep passion for helping others reach their fullest potential doesn't begin and end in the business world. The greatest joy for Steve is sharing in the life of his grandchildren. Watching them learn and grow with such openness and willingness, constantly reminds Steve of the human potential. The qualities and inherent strength of the little kid is in all of us — how we can choose to be fearless and embrace life for the shear pleasure of it.
